Summary

	"The old order is dead. Long live the new order." Callef to the Apprentice, moments before he was killed This event took place on the planet Tython during the Flesh Raider uprising shortly before the end of the Cold War. The young Jedi Initiate was sent to the Jedi Order's homeworld of Tython to learn from an official teacher and undergo the Jedi Trials. The Initiate took a shuttle down to the planet's surface and arrived at the remote meditation temple known as the Masters' Retreat. There, the student met with Jedi Knight Derrin Weller, a watchman of the training grounds, who was about to send the Jedi to the Jedi Temple in order to meet with the Jedi Masters, when Weller received an emergency signal from an apprentice named Unaw Aharo. Aharo reported that Tython's native Flesh Raiders had begun to swarm into the nearby Gnarls region, armed with blasters and headed for the Jedi outpost in the area. As the Gnarls Outpost was relatively undefended, Weller decided to send the Initiate to reinforce the Jedi there, and the student took an air taxi across the lake to the outpost. Many Jedi Padawans were in the area of the outpost when the attack began, and, taken by surprise, some of them were killed, and many more were captured by the Flesh Raiders and placed in cages. A trio of Jedi Padawans - Avitla, Jerridan and Mennaus - were in the Gnarls seeking knowledge of the Jedi Code in order to pass the Jedi Trials. When the attack began, they ran and encountered one of the raiders, surprising him. This helped them to kill the raider, but Jerridan was severely wounded during the fight. Fearing to move their injured friend, risking running into more raiders, the trio decided to hide and wait for the rescue party. When the Initiate arrived at the outpost, it was being attacked by Flesh Raider forces, but a group of Jedi Watchmen were successfully keeping the attackers at bay, preventing them from entering the outpost. The apprentice joined the fray and engaged the attackers, killing about ten Flesh Raider hunters and bloodletters. Padawan Aharo tracked the raiders back to where they came from and, after informing Master Weller of his findings, pursued the raiders inside a cave where he was captured. Derrin Weller contacted the Apprentice via holocom, informing him that the Flesh Raiders had shot him in the leg while he was rescuing some Padawans and he was evacuated to a medcenter. He told the Apprentice that another Padawan found a cave tunnel the Flesh Raiders used to enter the valley and wanted the Apprentice to come there to ensure no more reinforcements would came through the tunnel. The Apprentice acknowledged the order and went in search of the cave. Fighting off more and more Flesh Raiders along the way - scouts, hunters and berserkers, the Apprentice reached the cave. The cavern was swarmed with ravagers and brutes, the Apprentice was forced to kill at least ten of them before reached the deepest corner of the cavern. There the Apprentice found Padawan Aharo who was being tortured by a man named Callef. Aharo told the Apprentice that Callef was the one who led the attack of the raiders, but Callef countered that it was not an attack, but a cleansing - and they had only begun. The apprentice offered Callef to surrender, but he refused and, calling for help from a pair of Flesh Raider predators, attacked. Callef and both of his henchmen were killed in the ensuing fight. Once the battle was over, Master Orgus Din arrived at the cave. Glad the two Padawans were okay, he asked them to tell him what had happened. Aharo said that Callef was the Jedi who led the attack, but Master Din retorted that Callef was not a Jedi, or at least not of the Order. Troubled, he tooked Callef's lightsaber, finding it somehow familiar. Then, using the Force, he collapsed the tunnel inside the cave, saying that it would delay the raiders for a while. Aharo said he was injured and asked if it was safe to return to the outpost. The Master replied that he would accompany him to the medical center. He praised the Apprentice's skills and, ordered him to go to the Jedi Temple and report to the Jedi Council, adding that they would meet again there. On the way to the temple, the Apprentice was attacked several times by a groups of Flesh Raiders led by a lurkers, but was able to kill all the attackers with the help of another Padawan who also on the way to the Temple. Finally, the Apprentice reached the Temple grounds and, wasting no time, went inside. As soon as the Apprentice entered the Temple, a message came from Grand Master Satele Shan, who wanted the Apprentice to meet her in her meditation chamber immediately. The Apprentice went to the Temple and found Master Shan inside her meditation chamber. She greeted the apprentice, thanked them for what they had done, but expressed concern about their mental state after the Apprentice had to kill Callef. Reassured by the Apprentice's calm response and undestanding of the Jedi Code, Master Shan gave the Apprentice a training weapon and told that soon they would meet again in the Council chambers.
